Margaret Elaine Fetzer, age 76, of 3587 Savannah Lane, Claremont, North Carolina died Saturday, April 19, 2003. She passed peacefully at her residence after an extended illness.

She was born Jan 28 1927 to Walter Jonathan Fetzer and Elsie Marie Gerard in Williamsburg, Iowa, who preceded her in death.

She attended country school in Pilot Township at North Pilot and attended Williamsburg High School where she graduated with her future husband Robert Sidney Yoder. She first attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa for a twelve week Normal Training course Jun 4 to Aug 24 1945 to become a country-school teacher and obtain the professional title of “Miss”. She taught at Sumner Township Sumner School No 5, Langlass in 1945, Pilot Township, Colton school in 1946, Pilot Township School No 1, Maple Grove in 1947. She attended Iowa State Teacher’s College the summer of 1946 and 1947 also.

On Aug 28 1948, Margaret married Robert Yoder at the Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg, Iowa officiated by Rev. Lloyd Snyder. They next went to Des Moines, Iowa where Robert attended Drake University and Margaret worked for an insurance company.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving her were her husband, Robert S. Yoder married 54 years, her siblings and in-laws, Lester and Jean Fetzer, Charles Barney and Helen Fetzer, James and Shirley Fetzer, Ray and Thelma Fetzer, Shirley and James Alberhasky, Marlene and Robert Seydel, Mary and Bob Schenkel, Howard and Ann Fetzer, and Tillie Fetzer. Preceding her in death were Lloyd Fetzer and three other siblings in youth.

Her children all survive, Becky and Greg Russ of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, Janet Yoder and Michael Elliott of Cave Junction, Oregon, Carol and Lawson Clark of Greenville, South Carolina, David and Sue Yoder of Hickory, North Carolina and Patty and Scott Livezey of Norfolk, Virginia. She is survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
