Jean was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church where she enjoyed worship and, prior to her illness, Cards and Fellowship Group and United Methodist Women. She had a strong faith that was an inspiration to many.

She loved gardening, crocheting, crafts, baking (especially her delicious cakes and Christmas goodies), Hawkeye wrestling, and especially time spent with her family. She lived at Higley Mansion for the past year and developed many friendships there. She loved living at Higley and prided herself in wearing many “hats” in order to be of help to the staff and residents.

We wish to thank the wonderful staff and residents of Higley Mansion for the care and friendship she received; the outstanding staff at Mercy Medical Center and the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for their care and compassion during her final illness.

Memorials may be directed to the Salem United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3715 33rd Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52404 or charity of your choice.
