Lucille Healey, 92

Funeral Mass for Lucille Healey, 92, Victor, was held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, Victor. She died Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Rose Haven Care Center, Marengo.

The Rev. Brian Shepley officiated at the service.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Victor.

Lucille Healey was born May 10, 1923, the daughter of John and Clara Sauer Smith, in Simpson, Minn. She was raised in Rochester, Minn., and graduated from Rochester High School in 1941. She enlisted in the United States Navy after graduation and held a ranking of Pharmacist Mate, 3rd Class. While serving in the military, she met Harry Healey. The couple was married Feb. 23, 1945, in Astoria, Ore. They had six children.

She was honorably discharged from the Naval service in 1945 and the couple moved to Victor, where she was employed at the United States Postal Service for several years, working alongside her husband. After retirement, the couple remained in Victor, where she was involved in several community services.

She was an active member of the American Legion as well as the American Legion Auxiliary, Altar and Rosary Society and the Marian Study Club.

Healey is survived by her children, James (Mickie) Healey, Liscomb; Patricia Healey, Victor; Carol (Robert) Vaughn, Leesburgh, Fla.; Steven Healey, Oxford; Harry (Rhonda) Healey, Cedar Rapids, and Edward Healey, Victor; sisters, Elaine Morse and Patricia Taylor, Rochester, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Doris Oldaker, Monticello; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Healey Sr.; her parents; four brothers; six sisters and a great-granddaughter, Brook Healey.
