Evelyn Louise Provin, 84, of Guernsey, Iowa, died on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor with Doug Dauenbaugh, pastor of the Guernsey United Methodist Church, officiating. Casket Bearers will be her grandchildren, Scott Provin, Amy Brown, Alishia Tuttle, Anthony Provin, Jeremy Provin, Jill Hall, Cherry Eraquam, Randy Olson and Chelsea Erickson. Interment will be at the Guernsey Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Guernsey United Methodist Church.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor beginning 3:00 p.m. on Friday and the family will be present at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening.

Louise was born on July 26, 1930, in Malcom, Iowa to James and Ethel Mae Hinegardner Humes. She was raised in Malcom and graduated from Malcom High School with the Class of 1950.

On June 23, 1951, she was married to Harold "Mike" Provin in Guernsey. The couple made their home in Guernsey. She was a homemaker and dedicated her life to her family and to her church. She also cared for children and worked for the Star Inn.

Louise was a long time member of the Guernsey United Methodist and the church auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, square dancing, attending the Iowa State Fair and baking. Louise was also an avid Hawkeye fan.

Survivors include her children, Daniel E. Provin of Brooklyn, IA, Michael (Mary) Provin of Searsboro, IA, Randall (Debbie) Provin of Williamsburg, IA, Rodney (Wanda) Provin of Chetek, WI and Connie (Chris) Erickson of Peoria, AZ; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one great grandson, Mason Brown; and two sisters, Lois and Mary.
