MARGY V. HOPP

Margy V. Hopp, 59, of rural Ladora died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1987, at the Manor House Care Nursing Home, Sigourney, where she had been a resident since last fall.

The daughter of George Elmer and Cora Alice Schulz, she was born June 23, 1927 at rural Ladora. She attended school at Millersburg and Marengo schools.

On November 26, 1954, she was married to Herbert William Hopp. She lived in the Iowa County area most of her life and had taught in various rural schools in the area. She has been a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Victor, and had been a past president of the T.O.P.S. club of Ladora.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert; her mother, Cora Jordan of Washington, Iowa; one son, Daniel W. Hopp of Iowa City; a daughter, Kristin K. Hopp of Marengo; and a brother, Delmar D. Schulz of Libertyville, Ill. She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services were scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Victor, with the Rev. Kenneth D. Bartelt officiating. Organist was Marna Mohr. Pallbearers were Delmar Bertsler, Ladora, Larry Goodman, North English, Wayne Meyer and Michael Thomson, Ladora, and Eldon Montross and Walter Rhinehart, Williamsburg. Burial was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Victor.

A memorial fund has been established for St. John's Lutheran Church.

The Fremming Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
