Nadine M. Shaull, age 99 of Marengo, formerly of Ladora, died Sunday, May 3, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo.

Funeral services were Friday, May 8, at the Ladora United Methodist Church, Ladora. Burial is at Genoa Bluff Cemetery, rural Ladora. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, was in charge of arrangments. A memorial fund has been established.

Nadine is survived by her son Carrol “Shorty” Shaull and wife Shirley of Ladora, seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and nine step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leland in 1975, a daughter Beverly Shaull-Davis, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, a sister, Thelma Foster, and a brother Merne Shaull.

Nadine Marie Shaull was born October 10, 1915, in Ladora, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Mildred Wright Shaull. She graduated from the Ladora High School in 1932 and was united in marriage to Leland A. Shaull on September 8, 1934 at the Ladora Methodist Church. The couple had two children, Carrol and Beverly. Nadine worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years, as a clerk in Marengo and as postmaster of the Ladora Post Office. She loved to bowl in earlier years, and also enjoyed crafts and jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of the Ladora United Methodist Church.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Rose Haven and the Hospice staff for all the wonderful care and compassion shown to Nadine during her stay at the nursing home.
