Georgia Geiger, 73

A memorial service for Georgia K. Keiger, 73, West Amana, was held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Iowa City. She died Friday, April 17, 2015, at her home following a sudden illness.

The Rev. Dale Morrison officiated at the service.

Per her wishes, her body was donated to medical research. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Georgia Karen Geiger was born Sept. 8, 1941, in Amana, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Ertzinger Schoenfelder. She graduated from Amana High School.

She married Charles J. Geiger Nov. 30, 1964, in Omaha. Neb. The couple resided in West Amana and were active in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and Muscatine Seventh Day Adventist Churches.

Geiger is survived by one son, Kurt S. Geiger, the Philippines; one daughter, Liese Vanderbroek, Ames, and a half-sister, Dolores (Robert) LaGrange, Amana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 2013, and her parents.
