FLOSSIE ALBERT

Flossie Albert, age 95, of Ladora, died July 6 at Marengo Hospital. She was the daughter of Michael and Helen Merringer Klotz and was born on April 1, 1893 at West Amana. She attended school at rural schools near Amana.

On Feb. 28, 1912 she was married to Ralph Albert at her family home. They made their home in Iowa county near Ladora.

She had been a member of the Ladora United Methodist Church and the WSCS Society of the Ladora Methodist Women.

She is survived by one daughter, Gloria Barb of Ladora, and one son, Robert Albert Jr. also of Ladora; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Carl Johnson of Ladora and Richard Johnson of St. Ansgar; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Esther Betts of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph, on August 18, 1955; her son, Lester, on July 2, 1918; one sister, Hattie Beckler on August 3, 1966; and her brother.

Funeral services were held July 9 at the Ladora Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Barrick of the Ladora United Methodist Church officiating. The pall bearers were Dan Albert, Ladora; David Albert, Marengo; William Feller, Ladora; Carl Johnson, Ladora; Richard E. Johnson, St. Ansgar; and Delbert Peska, Marengo.

Burial was in the Ohio Cemetery in Iowa County.

The McAninch-Fremming Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
