LENI M. SHULL, 81

Leni M. Shull, 81, of Middle Amana, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, at the Ladora Cemetery near Ladora, with the Rev. Jim Davis, pastor of the New Covenant Parish Victor United Methodist Church, officiating.

Leni was born on July 20, 1926, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hinrich Kirchmeyer in Grob-Umstadt, Germany. She received her education in Germany and then attended cosmetology school.

She was united in marriage to Karl R. Shull on Jan. 21, 1961, in Montezuma. The couple resided in Middle Amana, and Leni worked at Amana Refrigeration for thirty years. She loved to sew and enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers.

Leni is survived by her brother, Karl Kirchmeyer of Germany; her half-sister, Gretchen Schneider of Germany; her sister-in-law, Kathryn (Marvin) Davis of Ladora; her brother-in-law Richard (Cindy) Shull; and several nieces and nephews.

Leni was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Karl, on Jan. 14, 2006; her brother, Heinrich Kirchmeyer; and her half-brother, Fritz Schlegelmilch.
