Clifford Parvin, 69

Funeral service for Clifford 'Skip' Parvin, 69, Homestead, was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Meadow Hill Christian Fellowship Church, Homestead. He died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.

The Rev. Diane Buswell officiated at the service.

Burial was at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Brooks Cemetery, Brooks.

A memorial fund has been established.

Clifford Paul 'Skip' Parvin was born June 30, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Frank and Elizabeth Rettig Parvin. He attended Amana High School and later received his GED. He served in the U.S. Army for three years during the Korean Conflict.

He was employed by the Amana Farms for several years. He went to work for Oehl Plulmbing, Amana, then managed Amana Society Plumbing and Heating from 1986 to 2005, retiring at that time.

He married Jean Peterson Hill Aug. 21, 1992, in Williamsburg. They made their home in West Amana. He was a member of Meadow Hill Christian Fellowship Church, Homestead.

Parvin is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Randy (Kendi) Parvin, Monona, Wis., and Kevin (Kristi) Parvin, Homestead; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Edward (Rita) Parvin, Muscatine, and two sisters, Karen (Ron) Von Lienen, Marengo, and Susan (Duane) Spidle, Peyton, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
