Arlene Marie (Hornbeck) Rauch was born on December 28, 1930 in Deep River, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Rose [Mollert] Hornbeck. She joined her siblings: brother James and sister Shirley Hornbeck. She grew up and went to Deep River School graduating in May of 1948. Arlene was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Deep River. She married William Charles Rauch on June 12, 1948. They lived southwest of Deep River for three years before buying a farm a half mile from Millersburg in 1951. They lived there all their life.

Arlene was a good farmwife and a stay-at-home mom. You might see her driving the tractor but was always available for her children and babysitting her grandchildren. One of her greatest loves was music. She joined Maxine Driscoll playing her chord organ at several nursing homes, senior dining meal sites, hospitals, ice cream socials, birthday parties, anniversaries, alumni banquets, and even at a McDonald's for Christmas. After Maxine passed away, her sister-in-law Janet Rauch joined in singing while Arlene played her organ. Another love of Arlene's were her horses. She grew up riding ponies and while living at her farm around Millersburg always had at least one horse. She also loved dogs. Her last companion, Molly, kept her company the last few years.

Arlene leaves two daughters, Charla Martinson and Sherry (Augie Sr.) Sinn, both of Williamsburg; grandson Augie Jr. (Laura) Sinn of Williamsburg and granddaughter Terri Sinn of Cedar Rapids; great grandchildren, Aubrey and Chase Sinn as well as her dog Molly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Carl and Jessie Rauch, her husband William "Charles" Rauch (August 1995), a son, Randy Rauch (April 2006), a sister, Shirley (Hornbeck) Evans (1990), and two brothers, James Hornbeck (1961) and Dovel Hornbeck (1926).
