Stanley Brock, 75

Funeral service for Stanley D. Brock, 75, Marengo, was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at First United Methodist Church, Marengo. He died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.

Burial was in the Marengo Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established.

Stanley Dwain Brock was born Aug. 5, 1938, in Washington, the son of Richard and Clela Smart Brock. He attended Washington High School.

He married Betty Lou Pirkl Dec. 11, 1958. The couple later divorced.

He was employed as a technician at Wolf Manufacturing, Cedar Rapids, and was later employed at Wilson Foods, also in Cedar Rapids.

He worked as a part-time police officer and school bus driver in Marengo. He also worked at the Woolen Mill in Amana.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marengo. He enjoyed his family, quiet days on the river bank and serving the Lord.

Brock is survived by his children, David Brock, Independence, and Kimary (Doug) Debrower, Victor; five grandchildren, Boone DeBrower, Michelle (Phil) Grant, Michael, Megan and Daniel Brock, and a great-grandchild, Olyvia Grant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Michelle Renee, in infancy; one son, Daniel Duane, and siblings, Richard, Daryl and Robert Brock, Wanda Arnst, Jeanie Nicholson and Betty Lou Meincke.
