Gerald E. Lenton, 92, Marengo, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. There will be no services at this time.

Gerald Eugene Lenton was born April 15, 1921, in Marengo, the son of Clarence and Helen (Dickenson) Lenton. He attended Ladora High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1944.

He married Julia M. Scarlett in Marengo. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors.

Lenton is survived by his wife, Julia; one son, Doug (Pam) Lenton, all Marengo; two stepsons, Bruce Ashby, Marengo, and Robert Castle, Tucson, Ariz.; one stepdaughter, Brenda Ashby, Tucson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte Brecht, Marengo, and one brother, Dale Lenton, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dean; three brothers, Daniel, Wilbur and Billy Lenton; one sister, Hilda, and a stepdaughter, Judy Kramer.
