Howard Richards, 86

Howard Richards, 86, Willow Springs, Mo., formerly of Vinton, died Sunday, Oct. 6, following a short illness.

He was born Oct. 19, 1926, the son of Newt and Mable Richards, of Plato, Mo.

He served in the Army, fought in the Korean War and received a Purple Heart.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outside.

He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was survived by his wife, Dorothy, Willow Springs; nine children, Linda (Ron) Gillam, Yellow Springs, Ohio, Pam Greene, Marengo, Teresa Brown, Fallbrook, Calif., Sharon (John) Boyer, California, Diane (Don) Dale, Tacoma, Wash., Cindy (Ralph) Brown, Fort Smith, Ark., Clinton (Dawn) Richards, California, and Brett (Dawn) Richards and Chris Richards, both of Vinton; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
