Dixie Dellamuth, 66

Funeral service for Dixie R. Dellamuth, 66, Blairstown, was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Blairstown Legion Hall. She died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at her home following a battle with cancer.

Burial was at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown.

A memorial fund has been established.

Dixie Rae Dellamuth was born Aug. 12, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Lester and Eunice (Pearson) Newton. She graduated from Blairstown High School.

She married Darrel Dellamuth Dec. 17, 1983, at the Blairstown Presbyterian Church. She provided daycare in her home for many years and also worked in housekeeping at Marengo Memorial Hospital.

She loved to do latch-hooks and shopping with her friends, but her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed life and was an excellent cook.

Dellamuth is survived by her husband, Darrel; her children, Trudey (Brian) Nekola, Tama; Dena (Christian) Shonts, Charlotte, N.C., and Nick (Christy) Dellamuth, Blairstown; one son-in-law, Scott Northup, Blairstown; eight grandchildren, Brittany, Hunter, Jenna, Zoey, Jordyn, Mason, Katie and Olivia; brother- and sister-in-law, Gene and Marilyn Dellamuth, Blairstown; siblings, Marilyn Stander, Vinton; Terry (Janet) Newton, Blairstown; Randy (Judy) Newton, California, and Brenda (Daryl) Meyer, Blairstown, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Ervin and Thelma Dellamuth; one daughter, Tammi Jo Northup, and two sisters, Betsy and Susan.
