Donna J. “Steffa” Trimble, 83, Marengo, died of a sudden illness Nov. 12, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, surrounded by family members.

There will be no formal memorial service or visitation. Graveside service will be held in the spring of 2014. Family and friends will be notified.

Memorials may be made to the Belle Plaine and Marengo ambulance funds.

Donna Jean Trimble was born Dec. 23, 1929, the son of Kenneth and Pauline Patterson Steffa, at Fort Madison. She spent her earlier years and graduated from high school in Dallas City, Ill. She spent the summers in Marengo with her grandmother, Ida Schafbuch Steffa, and great-uncle, Chris “Buck” Schafbuch.

She married Alvin Eugene “Gene” Trimble Dec. 23, 1947, at Fort Madison. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many who knew her.

Trimble is survived by three sons, Steve and Russell, both Marengo, and Mike, Belle Plaine; one daughter-in-law, Candice Trimble Paulson, Springville; nephew, Raymond Trimble, Wildwood, Mo.; granddaughters, Brandi Scafe, Overland Park, Kan., Calista Jean Trimble, Marengo; and a cousin, Beverly J. Hewitt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her eldest son, Kenneth.
