Marie Trimpe, 88

Celebration of life service for Marie A. Trimpe, 88, Williamsburg, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. She died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg.

The Rev. Carl Cloeter will officiate at the service. Organist will be Karin Winwood.

Burial will be in Pilot Grove Cemetery near Williamsburg. Casket bearers will be her eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Williamsburg. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com .

Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Interparish School Student Tuition Assistance Resource Program.

Marie Anna Trimpe was born Nov. 16, 1924, near Deep River, the daughter of William J. and Maria Anna (Burke) Jahlas. She attended St. John’s Parochial School near Victor.

She married Arnold M. Trimpe April 26, 1943, at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Victor. The couple lived and farmed west of Williamsburg until moving to town in 1984.

She enjoyed quilting, cooking, playing cards and traveling. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and attended Altar Guild, Ladies Guild and Fellowship Club.

Trimpe is survived by three sons, Gary (Judy) Trimpe, Cedar Rapids, and Ken (Sally) Trimpe and Dale (Cathy) Trimpe, all Williamsburg; eight grandchildren, Monique Clifford, Julie Trimpe Frey, Kendra Hanzlik, Renell Strait, Brian Trimpe, Scott Trimpe, Crystal Sherman and Ashley Gilbert; 11 great-grandchildren, Conor Clifford, Brady Clifford, Liam Clifford, Britton Carter, Hunter Strait, Oliver Frey, Cora Frey, Gabe Trimpe, Madison Trimpe, Zora Sherman and Veta Sherman; one brother, LaVerne (Earlene) Jahlas, Williamsburg, and one sister, Esther (Vernon) Sandersfeld, Homestead.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1988; her parents; a twin sister, Mildred, and three brothers, Harold, Raymond and William.
