Funeral service for Henry F. “Heinie” Graesser Jr., 85, Amana, formerly of West Amana, was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. He died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Colonial Manor of Amana.
The Rev. Gary Sears officiated at the service.
Burial was in the West Amana Cemetery with military honors.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy, or Colonial Manor of Amana.

Henry Fred Graesser Jr. was born Jan. 27, 1928, in West Amana, the son of Henry Sr. and Frieda Berger Graesser. He attended the West Amana School and graduated from Amana High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Korea.
He was employed for 25 years at Amana Refrigeration as an electrician and later as an inspector in quality control. He then worked in maintenance at the Amana Farms until 2003 when he retired.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy, and American Legion Post 76, Marengo. In earlier years, he taught Sunday school. He also served on the Amana School Board for several years and was a proud New York Yankees fan.
Graesser is survived by his children, Dennis Graesser, West Amana, and Carol (Gary) Hopp, West Amana; five grandchildren, Nathan Hopp, Crystal Hopp, both West Amana; Tricia (Wayne) Schutterle, Norway; Tonya (Rick) Grambo and Rachel Trimpe, all West Amana; six grandchildren, Morgan, Whitney and Ethan Schutterle, Grant and Loralei Trimpe and Brandon Chalfant; one daughter-in-law, Christine Graesser, West Amana, and one sister-in-law, Betty Graesser, Middle Amana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Elmer and Leroy.
