Memorial
Maggie Lee, 74, of 77 Samoa Dr., Hiawatha, died Sunday evening February 24, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Services at 1 PM Thursday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Nick Longworth director of pastoral care at St. Luke's Hospital will officiate. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday and at the chapel after noon on Wednesday.

Survivors include her husband, Harry, two daughters, Marnee Reid of Cedar Rapids and Christy Albaugh of Anaheim, California. Stepchildren: Terry Lee, Julie Sanich, and Jeff Lee of Phoenix, Arizona. Grandsons: Brian Severson and Rodney Schneider of Cedar Rapids, and Tim Albaugh and David Albaugh of Anaheim, California, and a great-grandson Jake Severson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Dorothy Curran.

Margaret Jean Curran was born March 25, 1927 in Clinton, Iowa. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Cedar Rapids, and married Harry Lee on January 27, 1963 in Cedar Rapids. Her career spanned years of radio and public relations, beginning in 1951 when she worked for KCRG and WMT. Her long running radio show 'Tip and Tunes' first aired in 1955. After leaving radio, Harry and Maggie moved to Tipton to run their own business, Ye Old Pub, for several years. She also worked for the Iowa Department of Human Services in Tipton. Upon returning to Cedar Rapids, Maggie began a 14 year career with St. Luke's Hospital working in public relations and special projects. She retired from St. Luke's in 1992, and then began working for the Variety Club of Iowa for four years until her final retirement in 1997.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Denise at Northbrook Manor, Amy and Gina of Therapy Solutions, for all their special care and concern, and to Jo Beth Weise for her special friendship. Anyone who wishes is welcome to say a few words at the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospital.
