Memorial service for David W. Jeck, 56, Coralville, formerly of High Amana, was held at 10 a.m. Wednedsay, Aug. 7, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. He died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at his home.
Church elder Emilie Hoppe officiated at the service.
Inurnment was in the High Amana Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established.

David William Jeck was born Jan. 29, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Howard “Buddy” Jeck and Mary Ellen Edwards Jeck. He graduated from Amana High School in 1975.
He married Diane Bierman Aug. 22, 1975, in Amana. They later divorced.
He was employed as a meat cutter and retired from the Amana Meat Market after several years. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and in earlier years was a Boy Scout and on the swim team.
He enjoyed westerns, especially John Wayne, World War II history and memorabilia, hunting and the mountains of Colorado. He liked watching “Two and a Half Men” and “Big Bang Theory.” He liked ice cream, feeding the birds and giving Julie’s dog, Hannah, belly rubs.
Jeck is survived by his children, Jeremy Jeck, Cedar Rapids; Jason Jeck, Walford, and Jennifer Jeck, Cedar Rapids; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Coghlan, Cedar Rapids; one sister, Julie Jeck, High Amana, and a nephew, Joe Schmuecker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter in infancy.
