Mary Cronbaugh, 61

Funeral service for Mary E. Cronbaugh, 61, Marengo, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 8, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. She died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at her home after surviving eight years with cancer.

Chaplain Mike Patterson officiated at the service.

Burial was in the Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo.

A memorial fund has been established.

Mary Elizabeth Cronbaugh was born Sept. 1, 1951, in Kirksville, Mo., the daughter of Denver and Elizabeth McCollum Leeper. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1969 and attended Truman State College, Kirksville. She received her licensed practical nursing degree from Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids.

She married Marlo Cronbaugh Feb. 14, 1998, in Marengo. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and crocheting and was an accomplished seamstress.

In earlier years, she worked as a waitress. She spent several years working at Casey’s and when she received her nursing degree, was employed at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo.

Cronbaugh is survived by her husband, Marlo; three daughters, Mariah and Christian Andrews, Mount Vernon; Fran and Kyle Rathjen, Kansas City, Mo., and Virginia and Adam Smith, Grinnell; seven grandchildren, Sophia, Gus, Payton, Logan, Makayla, Dylan and Holden; one brother, John Leeper and Jackie Meyer, Blairstown; five stepchildren, Tim Cronbaugh, Donnie and Missie Cronbaugh, Darrell and Joanne Cronbaugh, all Marengo; Deanne Cronbaugh, North Liberty, and Samantha and Bill Elliot, North Liberty; stepgrandchildren, Traci, Teri, Tiffany, Sofia, Alex, Gabby, Jessica, Jackie and Dustie Cronbaugh, and stepgreat-grandchildren, Tanner, Delilah, Briella, DeShaun, Cloe, Isaac, Logan, Kylie and Rowan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Michael, and a sister, Anne, in infancy.
