Angela “Angie” M. Grobstich

Angela “Angie” M. Grobstich completed her baptismal journey on Saturday, May 25, 2013 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 31, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hiawatha, with the Rev. Mark Reasoner, pastor of St. Jude’s Catholic Church officiating. Deacon Jim Berger of St. Ludmila’s Catholic Church will give the visitation liturgy at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home and one hour before the service Friday at the church. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery immediately following the funeral services.

Angie was born on May 29, 1961, in Marengo, Iowa, to the parents of Lawrence and Sheryl Roudabush. She graduated from LaSalle High School in 1979 and attended the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 125 Apprentice Trade School 1993-1998.

On July 20, 1979, she was united in marriage to Roger C. Grobstich at St. Jude’s Catholic Church. From this union two children were born, Craig and Matthew.

Angie was employed as a Journeyman Plumber for 17˝ years and worked for A’Hearn Plumbing and Heating, Midwest Plumbing, Larew Plumbing, Hanna Plumbing, Prime Mechanical and was a proud member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union 125. Angie was a former president of the Board of Education at St. Ludmila’s Catholic Church and sat on the first AdHoc Committee for the development and construction of Xavier High School. In 2007 she was a nominee for Woman of the Year in the Waypoint’s Annual Tribute to Woman of Achievement.

Angie is survived by her husband of 33 years, Roger Grobstich of Hiawatha; children, Craig (Jenny) Grobstich of Davenport and Matthew (Ashley) Grobstich of Marion; three grandchildren, Kelly, Kael and Reese; her father, Lawrence Roudabush of Cedar Rapids; sister, Annette Rashad of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Mike (Kim) Roudabush of Marion; and Angie’s caregiver and very special friend, Teresa Standafer.

Also surviving is her mother-in-law, M. Arlene Grobstich; sisters-in-law, Linda (Richard) Hill of Hagerstown, Md., Pam (Ron) Lane of Marion, Deb Grobstich of Cedar Rapids and Laurie Grobstich-Lindeman of Cedar Rapids; brothers-in-law, David Grobstich and Mike Bundy, both of Cedar Rapids; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sandy and Denny Wessel and George Hofferber.

Angie was preceded in death by her mother, Sheryl (Dietze) Roudabush; sister, Mary Bundy; grandparents, Sam and Florence Roudabush; father-in-law, LeRoy Grobstich; and brother-in-law, Anthony R. Grobstich Sr.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bell; her nurse, Zola; and the entire Hospice team at St. Luke’s for their excellent care of Angie.

Memorials are preferred and may be sent to either St. Luke’s Hospice Foundation or Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church (Hiawatha).
