Rachel Donohoe, 96, passed away May 23, 2013. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 29 at 10 a.m. at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines.

Rachel was born January 16, 1917 to Charles and Dora [Medora Jane Morse] Langlas in Marengo, Iowa.

She married in 1941 and graduated from AIB. She spent time working as a bookkeeper for a bank and then became an accomplished homemaker and championship golfer.

Survivors include her children, Larry (Susan) Donohoe and Mary Donohoe; grandchildren, Mike Donohoe and Katy Lord; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.F. Donohoe in 1996. Memorials may be made to the Mosaic organization of Des Moines.
