Lorena Teggatz, 102

Celebration of life service for Lorena G. Teggatz, 102, Williamsburg, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 10, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. She died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Colonial Manor, Amana.

The Rev. Carl Cloeter officiated at the service.

Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Casket bearers were Tom Teggatz, Eric Vernon, Mark Heathman, Jason Teggatz, Steven Heathman and Lance Lefebure. Honorary casket bearers were Daren Teggatz, Todd Vernon, Roger Heathman, Rob Heathman, Bradley Teggatz and Kurt Vernon.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Lorena Gail Teggatz was born April 29, 1911, near Millersburg in rural Iowa County, the daughter of Harry and Caroline (Faas) Collingwood. She received her early education from rural schools in Iowa County and from St. John Lutheran School, Victor. She was baptized June 11, 1911, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith April 5, 1925, at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Victor. She worked on the family farm.

She married Orville H.E. Teggatz Feb. 21, 1933, in Williamsburg. They farmed near Conroy for two years and later on several farms near Williamsburg. In 1975, they retired from the farm and moved into Williamsburg. In 2001, she moved to Lakeview Village and later moved to Colonial Manor of Amana.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.

Teggatz is survived by five children, LaVera Vernon, Olin; Jo Ann and Robert Heathman, Cedar Rapids; Myrna Teggatz, Decatur, Ill.; Bonita and Gary Lefebure, Fairfax, and Bonnie Teggatz, Cedar Rapids; daughters-in-law, Marie Teggatz, Latimer; Sandra Teggatz, Marion, and Ruth Teggatz, Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Howard and Donna Collingwood, Williamsburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Orville, in 1994; her parents; one sister, Leota Siems; four brothers, Mervin, Harold, Orlo and Cecil, and three sons, Leonard, in 2011; Eugene in 2012 and Gordon in 2011.
