Funeral Services for Jane L. Noyes, 71, rural Victor, were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 15, at Hoover-Valentine Funeral Home, Marengo. She died Tuesday evening, July 12, 1994, at her home following a lengthy illness with cancer.

The Rev. Torger Johnson, Koszta United Methodist Church, and Delbert Rankin officiated at the service.

Burial was in the Koszta Cemetery. Pallbearers were Loren Denzler, Dick Coats, Gene Cronbaugh, Doug Croft, Dale Kaplan and Dick Kaestner. Honorary pallbearers were Ernest Heller, Norman Madison, Ralph Lyons, Russell Tubaugh, Delbert Kitner and Ross Robey.

A memorial fund has been established.

Jane Leona Noyes was born May 7, 1923, at Marengo, the daughter of James and Lydia Meier Furlong. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1941.

She married Dale H. Noyes March 10, 1943, at the Methodist parsonage, Ladora. She worked at Amana Refrigeration Inc., Middle Amana,18 years and was a homemaker. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1993.

Noyes was a member of the Koszta United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and Iowa River Sams club. She worked as curator for the Iowa County Historical Society for several years and was also a volunteer for the Iowa County Hospice program.

Noyes is survived by her husband; two sons, John, Ladora, and Dale Jr., Pekin, Ill; one sister, Rosa Ackerman, South Amana; four granddaughters, Stephanie Davis, Crestwood, Ky; Jennifer Brierly, Pendleton, Ky.; Lora Murphy, Pella, and Carla Inman, Yutan, Neb., and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lillian Simmons, in 1987; one grandson, Charles, and one brother, James, in infancy.
