Funeral service for Fredric R. Lee, 73, Otho, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Otho United Methodist Church. He died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

The Rev. Dennis Shepherd officiated at the service.

Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery, Lehigh, with military rites by VFW Post 1856.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Fredric R. Lee was born April 8, 1939, in Lehigh, the son of Daniel “Edd” and Margret Lee. He attended Lehigh Public School. He worked at Lehigh Sewer Pipe and Tile Company from 1955 to 1956. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in France from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1959. Upon returning, he went back to work at the Lehigh tile plant.

He married Karen Kay Frayne Oct. 22, 1960. They lived in Lehigh and surrounding areas. In 1967, the couple moved to Williamsburg and he worked at Amana Refrigeration until he retired.

His wife died Jan. 7, 1999, due to cancer. He moved to Williams to be closer to his daughters.

He married Karen Kay Hammen Feb. 23, 2001, and moved to Otho. The “Karens” were good friends and went to school together.

He was a member of the Otho United Methodist Church.

Lee is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Margaret and Roy Ronnfeldt and Danielle Lee; two grandchildren, Hilary and Noah F. Ronnfeldt, all Williams; four stepchildren, James D. and Laurie Hammen II, Arkport, N.Y.; Kimberly R. El Zein, Marion; Janice K. and Richard Nimrod, Virginia Beach, Va.; Kyle M. and Nicole Hammen, Shellrock; six stepgrandchildren; sisters, Mary Wells, Des Moines; Virval and Dewayne Widick, Stanhope; Virginia Cusey, Fort Dodge; Audrey and Wayne Salgren, Lehigh; Jackie and Ray Powers, Norwalk; Diann and Craig Hansen, Dayton; one brother, Daniel Lee, Fort Dodge, and one brother-in-law, Jack Trask, Lehigh.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; his parents; sisters, Irene Trask and Daisy Nemecheck; brothers-in-law, Dale Cusey, Lyle Nemecheck and George Wells, and one sister-in-law, Nina Lee.
