Joseph Haley, 86

Funeral service for Joseph H. Haley Sr., 86, Palo, were held Saturday, March 9, at the Salvation Army, Cedar Rapids. He died Monday, March 4, 2013, at his home following a long illness.

Lt. Michael Sjogren officiated at the service.

Burial was in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, was in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Harrison Haley Sr., was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Marion, Ind., the son of Benjamin and Cora Milford Haley. He married Nadine Marie Wood Primley Oct. 14, 1978, in Cedar Rapids.

He was a member of the Salvation Army. He loved going to church and was very involved with his faith. He served in the United States Army. He loved animals and enjoyed camping, horse shoes and playing cards. His favorite card game was cribbage.

Haley is survived by his wife of 34 years, Nadine Haley; his sons, William and Penny Haley, Joseph Haley Jr. and Kevin Haley; his daughters, Patty Meyers, Deb Doty and Robin Haley; stepchildren, William and Deanna Cook, Marengo; Gale and Christy Primley, Cedar Rapids; Sandy and Ron Barker, Columbia, Mo., and Marilyn Primley, Palo; stepgrandchildren, Keeley and Mark Welsh, Davenport; Mindy Barker, Columbia, Mo.; Leasa and Bruce Lantzky, Waverly; Amber and Lon Friederick, St. Olaf; Johnnette and Tim Kruse and Jeff Wade, all Williamsburg; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren and one stepbrother-in-law, Gale and Beverly Wood, Victor.
