Alice Diane Bowen, 65, Lancaster, Pa., died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Lancaster General Hospital. Services will be held at a later date, with burial in the Marengo Cemetery.

Alice Diane Bowen was born in Iowa City, the daughter of Wilbur and Blythe Hummer Bowen. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and her master’s degree from Michigan State University. She was employed as a social worker for the state of Michigan for many years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marengo, and enjoyed sports, music, reading, nature, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Bowen is survived by two sisters, Betty C. and Richard Duncan, Lancaster, and Carol E. Meyer, Peachtree City, Ga.; one brother, John C. and Evelyn Bowen, Walworth, N.Y., and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
