Lorraine Williams, 88

Memorial service for Lorraine W. Williams, 88, rural Williamsburg, was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service, North English. She died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at the English Valley Care Center, North English.

The Rev. Paul Nus officiated at the service.

Burial was in Golden Rod Cemetery, Deep River.

A general memorial fund has been established.

Lorraine W. Williams was born June 13, 1924, in Wellsburg, the daughter of Henry and Louise Sennen Koch.

She married James Richard Williams Nov. 24, 1946, in Wellsburg. They made their home near Wellsburg, Oskaloosa, back near Wellsburg and Victor, before moving to her present home near Williamsburg.

She worked for Holden Foundation Seeds and later for Montezuma Manufacturing. In her spare time she sold Amway products.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Millersburg. She was a wonderful cook and loved to tell tales of her family when she was growing up.

Her husband died in March 2010 and she became a resident of the English Valley Care Center, North English, in April 2011.

Williams is survived by one daughter, Sharon Williams, North English, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
