Leichtman

Margaret Chandler Leichtman, 68, 1008 Sunny Lane, died Monday at 11:40 p.m. at Jefferson County Hospital. She had been ill three-and-a-half weeks.

The service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Graveside rites will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Williamsburg.

The daughter of Homer and Margaret Frederici Troutner, she was born Jan. 26, 1912 in Nashua. She married Gordon C. Chandler in 1930 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He died March 7, 1958.

She married Alden Leichtman in December, 1966. He died in 1974.

Mrs. Leichtman lived in the Fairfield community for three years. Previously, she had resided in Williamsburg and New Hampton.

She is survived by four children, Pat Evans, Williamsburg, Lorelee Brown, Fairfield, Peggy Friffis, Macon, Mo., and Robert R. Chandler, Marshalltown.

She is also survived by three stepchildren, Arty Sanderson, Lansing, Cordell Leichtman, Deerfield, Wis., and Richard Leichtman, New Hampton; 20 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two sisters. Florence Schmidt, New Hampton and Ruth Lyman, Chicago, Ill.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Flower and Garden Club of Keosauqua, Walton Club and the Fairfield Women's Club Chorus.
