Margaret Stohlmann, 95

Funeral services for Margaret A. Stohlmann, 95, Omaha, Neb., formerly of Homestead, were held recently at Crosby Burket Swanson Golden Colonial Chapel, Omaha. She died Oct. 11, 2012, in Omaha.

Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers were Willard Hagen, Gilbert Hagen, Robert Hagen, Joel Steinmetz, Justin Steinmetz and Wes Scott.

Margaret Anna Stohlmann was born Dec. 21, 1916, near Homestead in Iowa County, the daughter of Gottfried Sr. and Elise Gretener Steinmetz. She attended St. John’s Lutheran School. She helped her parents on their farm during the Depression years.

She married John F. Stohlmann Oct. 7, 1938. They were blessed by sons John Jr. and Eugene. When they lived in Ladora, she was a telephone operator. They moved to Omaha Oct. 4, 1954. She was a telephone operator at hotels and also worked in a print shop. She enjoyed her family, their home, flowers, hobbies and was helpful to friends when needed.

Stohlmann is survived by one son, John Jr. and Susan, Omaha; several nephews, great-nephews, great-great-nephews, nieces, great-nieces and great-great-nieces.

She was proceded in death by her husband, on April 20, 2000; one son, Eugene, Sept. 8, 1956; her father, June 8, 1948; her mother, Nov. 9, 1952; four brothers, George, Sept. 3, 1941; John, Aug. 13, 1958; Gottfried, March 28, 1999, and Carl, Sept. 13, 1946, and one sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Heinze, July 21, 2005.
