Bertha C. Greene Milota, 95, 300 Main St., Lowden, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Steven Knudson from First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery (with first husband, Tom Greene).

Bertha was born Oct. 13, 1916, to Alve James Miller and Louella (Lovell) Miller at North English, Iowa. She moved to Cedar Rapids at age seven.

She is survived by a son, Thomas Greene of Baldwin; a daughter, Christine Clausen of San Rafael, Calif.; one sister, Glenna Massler of Creve Coeur, Mo.; stepdaughter, Marilyn Lafrenz; stepgrandchildren Rick (Terri) Kraemer, Randy (Ana) Kraemer, Dawn (David) Adney; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mabelle Watson, Frances Burgess, Margarite Selser and Rosemary Cook; and a brother, Ernie Miller.

She was married to Thomas Greene, who died in 1966. She then married Lee Milota in 1967; he died in 1982. She then married Gerald Nyberg in 1987, who died in 1993.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church while living in Cedar Rapids. She attended school in Cedar Rapids and was employed in the accounting department of Collins Radio Co. for 17 years.

Bertha was past president Noble Grand of Praha Rebekah Lodge, past Chief Matriarch of Linn Encampment Auxiliary, and past president of Ladies Auxiliary of patriarch militants 100F of Cedar Rapids. She was a member of Jolly 9 Card Club, the Birthday Club and 3/30 Golf & Country Club of Lowden. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, embroidery, textile painting and making quilts.
