Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jane Schulte, 90, Marengo, was held Tuesday, June 5, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Watkins. She died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo.

The Rev. Brian Dellaert was celebrant.

Burial was at St. Patrick and St. Paul Cemetery near Watkins.

A memorial fund has been established.

Phillips Funeral Home, Blairstown, was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.phillipsfuneralhomes.com.

Mary Jane Schulte was born Dec. 12, 1921, at Fairfax, the daughter of Omer and Nettie Larson Farrell. She graduated from Norway High School in 1940.

She married Melvin Schulte April 29, 1941, at Norway. He died in 1981.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Watkins, where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society.

Schulte is survived by two sons and their wives, Marvin and Sharon Schulte and Steven and Kathy Schulte, all Marengo; five grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly and Bill Murphy, Algona; Eric and Ellen Schulte, Parker, Colo.; Kayla and Clay Creek, Littlefield, Texas; Camille and Rich Loughner and Monica and Derek Miller, all Cedar Rapids; 10 great-grandchildren and one sister and her husband, Glenda and John Huston, Bella Vista, Ark.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Alan, in infancy; one daughter, Patricia; one brother, Jack Farrell and one sister, Eula Schulte.
