Funeral services for Anna L. Woehr, 97, Marengo, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo. She died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Brooklyn Community Estate, Brooklyn.

The Rev. Gary Sears officiated at the service.

Burial was in the Marengo Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established.

Anna L. Woehr was born Aug. 2, 1914, in rural Victor, the daughter of Ludwig Henry and Anna Marie Schultz Hinrichs. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Victor. She graduated from Guernsey High School in 1932.

She married Carl H. Floerchinger Jan. 28, 1934, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Victor. The couple were blessed with five daughters. They farmed in the area for many years, moving to Marengo in 1954.

She served the Marengo Memorial Hospital for 20 years and was an active member at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo.

Her husband Carl died in 1979.

She married Fred J. Woehr in 1983 and lived in St. Louis, Mo. He pased away and she returned to Marengo in 1995.

She enjoyed spending time crocheting and making quilts at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Woehr is survived by her five daughters and their spouses, Grace and Roy Schumacher, Davenport; Sylvia and Don Kummer, Garnet Valley, Pa.; Virginia and Dale Sperry, Marengo; Mary and Chuck Wilde, Peach Tree City, Ga., and Carol and Alan Hubbard, Princeton, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, several nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers and sisters, the Rev. E.W. Hinrichs, Pauline Berry, Clark Hinrichs, Marie Boehnke, Martha Borcherding, Florence Krause, Louis Hinrichs, Howard Hinrichs and Gordon Hinrichs; one stepchild and one son-in-law, David Soedt.
