Funeral Mass for Mary C. Disterhoft, 80, Marengo, was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Marengo. She died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the English Valley Care Center, North English.
The Rev. Joseph Roost and the Rev. Brian Shepley officiated at the service.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Marengo.
A memorial fund has been established.

Mary Catherine Disterhoft was born March 22, 1932, near Norway, the daughter of Cecil Jacob and Luella Marie Stallman Frimml. She attended Norway schools and graduated from Norway High School.
She married Paul Warren Disterhoft June 12, 1956, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Blairstown. The couple farmed in the Marengo area for many years. He died June 27, 1983.
She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed an evening out that included dancing but her main focus was her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Marengo.
Disterhoft is survived by eight children and their spouses, Susan and Leslie Bean, Williamsburg; Terrance and Camelle, Tiffin; Diane and Dan Williams, Conroy; Timothy and Ann, Marengo; P. Bryan and Joyce, Oxford; Mary L. Disterhoft, Hiawatha; Julie and Jackie Bigler, Fairburn, Ga., and Colleen and Dale Lane, Williamsburg; 19 grandchildren and their spouses, Shawn Williams, Conroy; Isaac Bean, Ames; Colby Lane, Iowa City; Caitlin and Brian Love, Ankeny; Mallory and Daniel Meier, Marengo; Amanda and Bryant Westfall, Conroy; Devin Disterhoft, Tiffin; Britney and Nick Iburg, Williamsburg; David Disterhoft, Oxford; Shelby Williams, Conroy; Seth Bean, Ankeny; Dillon Disterhoft, Oxford; Emily Bean, Ankeny; Drew Disterhoft, Tiffin; Adam Disterhoft, Marengo; Kali Disterhoft, Oxford; Ashton Bigler, Fairburn; Kristina Lane, Williamsburg, and Taylor Bigler, Fairburn; three great-grandchildren, Kaiden Williams, Nash Iburg and Brodie Westfall; her siblings and their spouses, John Frimml, Belle Plaine; Robert and Marlys Frimml, Newhall; Jane and Bill Dietrich, Victor; Luann and John Lutkenhaus, Cedar Rapids; Marcia and Don Bonham, Middletown, Ohio; Sandra and Bob Mantz, Boca Raton, N.M.; Richard and Dee Frimml, Luzerne, and Dave Frimml, Cedar Rapids, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Bill Frimml, and one sister, Margaret Stumpff.
