Family services for Patricia A. Evans, 79, Williamsburg, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Williamsburg. She died Friday, June 17, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

The Rev. Craig Brown officiated at the service.

Burial was in Harrington Cemetery, Williamsburg.

A memorial fund has been established for Mercy Hospice Care Unit or Iowa City Hospice.

Patricia Anne Evans was born July 6, 1931, in Nashua, the daughter of Gurdon Curry and Margaret Alice (Troutner) Chandler. The family lived in Nashua when she was little, before moving to Williamsburg. She graduated from Williamsburg High School and went on to receive her teaching certificate.

She taught country school for one year and was the bookkeeper for Evans Sales Co.

She married Carl D. Evans April 22, 1950, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. She was a former member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Williamsburg. She enjoyed playing duplicate bridge and going to tournaments, bowling and golfing.

Evans is survived by her husband; one daughter and her husband, Nancy and Richard Bohrn, Iowa City; three sons and their wives, Richard and Julie Evans and Robert Evans, all Williamsburg, and Paul and Amy Evans, Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorelee Brown, Fairfield, and one brother, Robert Chandler, Marshalltown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Peggy Griffis; one son, Steve Evans, and one grandson, Calvin Evans.
