Funeral service for Lucille F. Rinderknecht, 94, Atkins, was held Monday, Aug. 23, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Atkins. She died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness.

The Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiated at the service. Graveside services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Luzerne. A memorial fund has been established. Phillips Funeral Home, Vinton, was in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.phillipsfuneralhomes.com.

Lucille F. Rinderknecht was born June 5, 1916, at Luzerne, the daughter of George F. and Louise (Lage) Radeke. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1934. She married Vernon J. Meyer Sept. 8, 1937. He preceded her in death June 19, 1961. She married Wilbert H. Rinderknecht April 21, 1967. He preceded her in death Oct. 5, 1993.

She was a longtime member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Society.

Rinderknecht is survived by one son and his wife, Kenneth and Xiaolu Meyer, Cincinnati, Ohio; one daughter, Karen Meyer, Indianapolis, Ind.; one stepson and his wife, David and Jane Rinderknecht, Wyckoff, N.J.; one stepdaughter and her husband, Carol and John Leasure, Champaign, Ill.; one granddaughter and her husband, Lisa and Nate Eimer; one grandson and his wife, Eric and Catherine Meyer; stepgrandsons and their wives, Mike and Michelle Rinderknecht, Jeff and Paula Leasure and Dan Leasure; one stepgranddaughter and her husband, Kim and Steve Miklandric, and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Helen Roehr, and one brother, George L. Radeke.
