Funeral services for Vera Grimm, 82, Marengo, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Walford. She died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at her home following an extended illness.

The Rev. David Mosher officiated at the service.

Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown.

A memorial fund has been established.

Vera Marie Grimm was born April 6, 1928, in Iowa County, the daughter of George and Mary Possehl Schultz. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1948.

She married Ernest “Jack” Grimm May 28, 1952, at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, rural Marengo.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and fishing.

Grimm is survived by two sons and their wives, Ernest Jr. “Ernie” and Debbie and Roger and Teresa, and one daughter and her husband, Mary and Dennis McDonald, all Marengo; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one sister, Dora Stochl, Solon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 2003; her parents; twins, in infancy; two brothers, Ervin and Everett Schultz; one grandson, Jason McDonald, and one great-granddaughter, Kelsie Marshall.
