Funeral services for Henrietta L. Schwarting, 95, South Amana, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. She died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Colonial Manor of Amana, following an extended illness.

The Rev. Gary Sears officiated at the service.

Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy.

A memorial fund has been established.

Henrietta Lena Schwarting was born March 11, 1915, in West Amana, the daughter of Fred and Ida Schoenfelder Ehrmann. She attended the Amana schools.

She married Paul Schwarting Feb. 10, 1938, at the Trinity Lutheran parsonage, Conroy. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy, and the ESR Club.

Schwarting is survived by two sons and their wives, Larry and Lani Schwarting, South Amana, and Harvey and Jeannie Schwarting, Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Linda Block, Homestead; Lanette Spanier, Albany, Minn.; Terry Schwarting, South Amana, and Craig Schwarting, Marengo; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife, George and Ruth Ehrmann, Amana, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, Alfred, Walter, Roy and Richard Ehrmann; one great-grandson, Chase, and one great-great-grandson, Bradley.
