Memorial services for Judith C. Wallace, 72, Van Horne, were held Saturday, March 5, at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Van Horne. She died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at her residence following an extended illness.

The Rev. David Lingard officiated at the service.

Private committal services were at St. John Cemetery near Newhall.

Memorials may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Van Horne.

Phillips Funeral Home, Keystone, was in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.phillipsfuneralhomes.com .

Judith Clare Wallace was born June 6, 1938, at Oak Park, Ill., the daughter of Alfred Franklin and Dorothy Alflo (Fleming) Ebsen. She graduated from Marion High School. Following training as a physician’s assistant, she served her nation in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1958 as a radioactive isotope tech at the Naval Regional Medical Center in San Diego, Calif.

Before moving to Van Horne, she was the general manager of several companies.

For over 20 years, Judith served as librarian at the Van Horne Public Library, where she enjoyed involvement with the library board and Friends of the Library. As a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church she enjoyed membership in the Missionary League and taught Sunday school for many years. Her many talents were spread throughout the church. Her greatest passion was reading.

Wallace is survived by her son, Marc Dalano Wallace, Holiday Lake near Brooklyn, and her brother, Alfred (Jude) Ebsen, Ft. Myers, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughters, Shirley, Sheryl and Susan; and her sisters, Joana and Janice.

A public committal service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2011 at St. John cemetery near Newhall with the Rev. David Lingard officiating.
