Celebration of life service for Harold R. Wade, 85, North English, was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Millersburg. He died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the English Valley Care Center, North English.

The Rev. Paul Nus officiated at the service.

Burial was in the North English Cemetery with military rites.

Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.

Harold Raymond Wade was born Aug. 31, 1925, near North English, the son of Walter Wayne and Jennie Belva Butterbaugh Wade. He graduated from North English High School in 1944. He was a member of the United States Navy during World War II.

He married Melva Huedepohl July 24, 1948, near Victor. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Millersburg, and the VFW. He enjoyed fishing.

Wade is survived by one son, Randall Wade, Waterloo, and three sisters and their husbands, Belva Yoss, Hazel and Glen Cobb, all North English, and Evelyn and Wayne Kurtz, Vinton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one daughter, Barbara Cairns, and one brother, Walter Wade.
