Williamsburgh Journal, Williamsburgh (Iowa Co.), Iowa, 2 Sep 1887, p3.

DIED:--Aug. 20, 1887, in Fillmore township, Iowa county, Ia., MAMIE, infant daughter of Thomas and Hannah Phillips, aged one year, eight months and twenty days.

This makes the fifth child that the bereaved parents have laid to sleep under the little grassy mounds in the church-yard since they clasped hands before the old family altar and pledged each other through weal or woe. They have the sympathy of friends and neighbors in this hour of sorrow.

"Gone from the sorrows of earth,
Gone from its pains and its cares,
Gone to the home of the blessed,
Gone to where no one sheds tears.
Hope bids the christain rejoice,
Hope lifts the soul upon high,
Hope tells us MAMIE still lives,
In the realms above the blue sky.
