It has pleased the Lord to summon out of this world suddenly Mrs. Caroline Roesch, long a respected mother of Dayton township, who passed away monday evening at the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 12 days.Caroline Schutt was born in Mecklenberg, Germany, on the 30th day of September 1838. She was united in holy wedlock to John Roesch, who preceeded her in death in the year 1895. To this union were bron seven children, five of which also departed to the great beyond. The Roesch family came to this country in the year 1865, and settled at first Muscatine, Iowa, after a year's time they came to Dayton township, and moved to the present Roesch home, where the departed mother has spent 53 years of her long pilgrimage.Those of her children that are surviving are: Louis F. Roesch and Mrs. Chas. Timmerman, 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Roesch was baptised in the Lutheran faith in her infancy, and received her Christian education of teacher Gillhof, of Mecklenburg, Germany. She has always been a member of the Lutheran church, trusting in her Savior, who has also shed His precious bloood for her, and has now received her into that rest which remaineth for the people of God.
Funeral services were conducted at St. John's Lutheran church, Thursday, by Rev. Wm. F. Ullerich and interment made in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
