Private funeral services for Ronald H. Murphy, 72, Norwalk, formerly of Cedar Rapids, were held Friday, Nov. 26, at the Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo.

He died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at his home following an extended illness.

Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, was in charge of arrangements.

Ronald Harlan Murphy was born Oct. 1, 1938, in Guernsey, the son of Clifford and Edith Kluber Murphy. He graduated from Marengo High School in 1956. He was employed as a machinist with Goss Printing, Cedar Rapids, retiring after 30 years of service.

Murphy is survived by three daughters, Dawn Martin, Lincoln, Neb.; Dolly Howe, Norwalk, and Danyelle Suhl, Cedar Rapids; nine granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marlene Sloan, Victor; Marvel Schafbuch, Koszta, and Grace Murphy, Belle Plaine, and one brother, Larry Murphy, Koszta.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lavern and Earl Bill.
