Miss Mary Conroy.

Miss Mary Conroy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Conroy of Hilton township, died on Tuesday, October 16th, after an illness of two years. The funeral services were held in St. Patrick's church, Marengo, on Saturday Oct. 20th and were conducted by Rev. Father Carroll. Interment was in Calvary cemetery.

Mary Conroy was born in Hilton township and was forty-five years old at the time of her death. Her early years gave evidence of the singularly sweet disposition and lovable temperament for which she was admired all through life. She was gifted with a bright mentality and this was well developed by the full course of study at St. Agatha's seminary of Iowa City from which she was graduated with high honors. She taught school for several years in Hilton township, ranking high in her profession. Of late years she gave all her attention to the affairs of her home until failing health forced a relinquishment of all earthly care.

In the solitude of Calvary, not far from the home she loved, she sleeps with her two sisters who preceded her to that far-off shore. A father, mother, six brothers and two sisters mourn the loved one and as a solace to their sorrow the sincere sympathy of the entire community is extended.
