Last Rites Held Tuesday for Mrs. Earl Yearian

Williamsburg: Funeral services for Mrs. Earl Yearian, 80, who died suddenly from a heart attack at her home Saturday, July 17, 1971 at 3:45pm, were held Tuesday at 2pm at the Jones Funeral home. The Rev. Harold Jones officiated. Mrs. Brad Furman at the organ accompanied soloist Burton Jones who sang “How Great Thou Art” and “Beyond the Sunset.” Casket carriers were Charles Hahn, Winston and Arnold Dubisher, Harry D. Jones, Leroy and Eldon Yearian, all nephews of the deceased. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.

As Albie Dubisher, she was born in rural Williamsburg Sept. 6, 1890, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine Smejkal Dubisher. She attended Iowa county rural schools. On Sept 27, 1913, she married Earl Yearian who died Dec. 4, 1952.

Mrs. Yearian lived her entire life in Iowa County and was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, three brothers, and a son, Lloyd, who lost his life in a car accident Mar. 4, 1950.

Survivors are three sons, Byron and Harlan, Cedar Rapids; Robert, Woodridge, Ill.; and four daughters, Mrs. Byron (Earlyne) Jones, Lost Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. John (Lovell) McGillicuddy Jr., and Mrs. Thomas (Dorothy) Shanahan, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Gino (Neva) DiStefano, Mundelein, Ill. There are 25 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Other survivors include two brothers, Edward Dubisher, Iowa City; William Dubisher, Williamsburg; two sisters, Blanche Carey, Ladora and Ottie Hahn, North English.
