Memorial services for Sheryl (Sherry) M. Martin, 61, Williamsburg, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Williamsburg. She died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at her home in Williamsburg.

The Rev. James Parks and the Rev. Jane Shroyer officiated at the service. A general memorial fund has been established. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Williamsburg, was in charge of arrangements. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com , under obituaries.

Sheryl Marie Martin was born Jan. 12, 1949, in Sigourney, the daughter of Calvin and Martha Jane (Northup) Martin. She attended school in Conroy, Sigourney and Marengo. She later attended Kirkwood Community College.

She married Jerry Beck in 1984. They later divorced.

She found a special friend, Jeff Keasling, and they spent a number of years together until his death in 2007.

Martin is survived by one son, Roger Schropp; two daughters and their husbands, Holly and Matt Slye, Williamsburg, and Sarah Davisson and Adam Wentling; one stepdaughter, Brandy Pryor, Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Isaac Wentling, Addison Slye and Andrew Slye; three stepgrandchildren, Kaysha and Loriane Dodson and Brooklyn Pryor; two sisters and their husbands, Nancy and Beryl Shifflett, Williamsburg, and Helen and Kenny Doehrmann, Parnell; three brothers and their wives, Lowell and Karen Martin, David and Bonnie Martin, and Ron Martin, all Marengo.

In addition to her special friend Jeff Keasling, she was preceded in death by her parents; two nephews, Heath Martin and John Martin; an aunt, Della Allum, and a cousin, Karen Hohle.
