Earlene Joyce (Rush) Fisher, 24 Jul 1933 – 25 Jul 2010, 77 yrs

Funeral services for Earlene J. Fisher, 77, Belle Plaine, were held Thursday, July 29, at Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine. She died July 25, 2010, at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center following a lingering illness. The Rev. Jack Andrews officiated at the service. Musical selections included CDs of “Amazing Grace” and “On Eagle’s Wings.” Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine. Pallbearers were Randy Weber, Russ Spading, Steve Koeppen, Rick Dunning, Tom Cliff and Ron Buch.

Earlene Joyce Fisher was born July 24, 1933, in Iowa County, the daughter of Earl and Margaret Rayner Rush. She attended Union Star School, finished in Belle Plaine and got her GED in Marengo. She married Earl Fisher Jr. at the Little Brown Church in 1957. He died in 1988.

She was a waitress at the Belle Plaine Sale Barn for 20 years, worked at Amana for four years and also worked part-time at the Lincoln Cafe. She loved to play bingo and cards and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to sell her sweet corn and potatoes. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Fisher is survived by one son and his wife, Rod and Julie, Belle Plaine; three grandchildren, Allen, Danny and Jamie, and two great-grandchildren, Star and Damien Fisher.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Alice Sichra.
