Funeral services for Dwight L. Mumm, 79, Williamsburg, were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. He died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at his home. The Rev. Carl Cloeter officiated at the service. Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery, Williamsburg. A memorial fund has been established.

Dwight Leslie Mumm was born June 7, 1931, in Williamsburg, the son of Arthur Otto and Alice Collingwood Mumm. He attended Iowa County schools.

He married Joyce Ann Martinson Sept. 7, 1950, in Knoxville. He farmed for 26 years and was the fourth generation to farm on the Mumm family farm. This farm was designated a Century Farm in 1976. He also worked at Middle America and Fetzer’s Standard for 17 years and landscaped for Tom Belland and Paul Marner.

He joined St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1955 and was a member in good standing. Dwight enjoyed traveling, camping, family gatherings and visiting at the Coffee Club. He was also interested in history and tracing his family tree.

Mumm is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce; three sons and their wives, Les and Wanda Mumm, Eureka, Mont.; Steve and Paula Mumm, Altoona, and Jeff and Cindy Mumm, Cedar Rapids; one daughter and her husband, Julie and Mike Bodkins, Altoona; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy Mumm, Williamsburg; Allicia and Jason Wissink and Sean Mumm, all Seattle, Wash.; Lindsay Willard, Tina and Jess Farley and Ashley Mumm, all Cedar Rapids; Captain Dustin Willard, Abilene, Texas; Lindsay and Jason Toenges, Katy, Texas; Kyle Bodkins, Minneapolis, Minn., and Jarred Mumm, Altoona; one great-grandchild, Hayden Toenges; two sisters Marcella Martinson and Irene Siems and husband Noel, Amana; two brothers-in-law, Merlyn Martinson, Marengo, and Milford Martinson and wife Nancy, Williamsburg; one sister-in-law and her husband, Leona and Luke Loyd, Cedar Rapids, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Florence Cronbaugh; three brothers-in-law, Irvin Martinson, Henry Boesenberg and Bill Cronbaugh, and two sisters-in-law, Norma Siems and Edith Martinson.
