Funeral services for Regina A. Maas, 84, Blairstown, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, at Grace Lutheran Church, Blairstown. She died Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Vinton Lutheran Home following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

The Rev. David Rempfer officiated at the service.
Burial was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Newhall.

Memorials may be made to Central Lutheran School, Newhall, or the Vinton Lutheran Home.
Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, was in charge of arrangements.

Regina Anna Maas was born July 8, 1925, in Williamsburg, the daughter of Otto and Caroline Kummer Hopp.

She married Harold Maas Sept. 7, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. She worked at Central Lutheran School, Newhall, as the head cook for 18 years.

The couple loved to play cards and travel to see all of their children and grandchildren. She loved to garden and was an excellent housekeeper. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend. She was one in a million and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Maas is survived by her husband; 11 children and their spouses, Pam Beisker, Daytona Beach, Fla.; Dennis and Marcene Maas, Waterloo; Paulette Bildstein and Mary Beth Rausch, Parnell; Linda Haack and Greg Van Tomme, Brooklyn; Donald and Jeri Maas, Norway; Lynette and Jim Stults, Ault, Colo.; Jan and Mike Stults, Eaton, Colo.; Julie and Bob Jacobson, Van Horne; Sheila and Jim Freie, Wilton; Suzette and Randy Beardsley, Port Orange, Fla., and Carol and Brian Wessler, Wake Forest, N.C.; 25 grandchildren and their spouses, Brett and Carla Beisker, Orange Park, Fla.; Beth and Eric Busler, Orange, Calif.; Andrea and Adam Krambeer, Cedar Rapids; Aaron Maas, Chapel Hill, N.C.; Jayson and Sandra Bildstein, Mundelein, Ill.; Leah Bildstein, Laura and Brian Juel, Ankeny; Amy and Jared Douglas, Williamsburg; Amber Parizek, Blairstown; Ashley and Kyle Parizek, Belle Plaine; Luke and Beth Maas, Newton; Clinton Maas, Breckenridge, Colo.; Josi Maas, Cedar Rapids; Katie and Tucker Stults, Ault, Colo.; Colton and Alexis Stults, Morgan and Dalton Stults, Eaton, Colo.; Adam and Courtney Martin, Van Horne; Arick and Amy Martin, Blairstown; Wesley Freie, Iowa City; Andrew Freie, Wilton; Coleman Beardsley, Port Orange, Fla., and Garrett and Hannah Wessler, Wake Forest, N.C; 19 great-grandchildren, Christian Beisker, Mason, Stone and Major Busler, Brynnley and Graidey Krambeer, Gwendalyn and Jaxson Bildstein, Elijah, Owen and Lily Douglas, Landyn and Larkin Haack, Alivia Haack, Ava Parizek, Braxton Stults, Elijah and Evan Martin and Emma Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ray Hopp; one sister, Rosetta Von Ahsen, and one grandson, Cody Stults.
